I am SOOO SO sorry for the lack of posts lately! I just got off of spring break and I know it was supposed to be a time to relax, but my break was super busy. My mom and I went to NYC for a few days to revisit colleges so that I could make my final decision on where to go. But that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have a little fun on the trip too (: I finally got to see my old pal Nick in his broadway show, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. I know I’m a bit biased, but it was honestly the best show I’ve ever seen! It was hilarious. The set was brilliant and so different from the norm. The costumes were ADORABLE!!! I wish I owned every single vintage-inspired dress on stage. Beautiful. Oh and the music! I need to buy the soundtrack… I’m pretty sure I’ll be listening to it all day tomorrow. Although Nick did an amazing job (I feel like a proud momma!!!), the standout for me was Michael Urie from Ugly Betty. His character was insane. I loved it. You need to go see this show, right now. Right. Now. Here are some pics from the day, more to come from my trip in upcoming posts (:
P.S. Everything I’m wearing is vintage!! Yay!
Oh how in love I am with this dress. I found it at a vintage dress sale for $10 and it was worth every penny! I can’t wait to find somewhere to wear this to. The beading is so intricate and beautiful and gahhh! I’m totally in love! Hahaha.
All three of us volunteer at our local animal shelter and we care about the animals there so very much! Some very exciting things are going on at the shelter right now. They’re in the process of getting a brand new building, and to help raise funds for that they’re opening up a thrift store downtown! My two favorite things… together! I seriously could not believe the wonderful news. I know where I’ll be thrifting this summer (;
Anyway, the shelter just launched its new website, and the point of this post was to share the site with you all! Take a peek and just maybe you’ll find a special furry friend, or at least be inspired to visit your own local shelter.
Even if you can’t adopt a little doggy or kitty, there are still plenty of ways to help!
- Collect old or unwanted blankets and towels for donation
- Volunteer to do miscellaneous shelter jobs, like laundry, mopping, or tidying up
- Foster a cat or dog until they find their forever home! My foster dog Lucy is a sweetheart
- Run a pet food drive for your shelter
- Socialize cats and/or walk dogs to help them become more adoptable, or to just make their day!
And to end this post, here’s a picture of my rescue dog Mandy. She’s just a little crazy…
Last month we (and our friend Courtney) decided to throw a masquerade ball to benefit our local animal shelter and non-profit rescue zoo. Both are in pretty rough condition and need all the help they can get. So we wanted to raise some extra cash for them… like 450 extra bucks! We threw the whole shebang together in less than a month and the event was Monday night. It went fabulously. I’m so proud of what we accomplished!
Here are some pics from our night (:

The blog girlies! (All but first photo courtesy of Jose Bonifacio)
Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our event. Have a lovely evening!
I’ve been super busy these last few days preparing for the big V-day! I hope you all had a wonderfully perfect day with your boo, your friends, your Ben & Jerry’s… however you spent it! I went to swing dancing lessons with my boyfriend (and Madeline and Bethany!) and then the two of us watched The Notebook in a blanket fort we made…while eating french fries from Sheetz (: He gave me a ring (which I LOVE) and here’s what I got for him:
Sorry for the terrible picture quality, I had to use my webcam because I was in a hurry. I have him a wittle teddy bear that I thought was really cute, some gummy bears (his favorite), a book that I hollowed out and glued two hearts in, some homemade heart candies for his family, and a little book I made with crayons.
I filled it with cute little quotes I found and drew pictures to match. It may be a little cheesy, but I love it!
Have a lovely evening! xo Sara
