When my friend Shawntell told me I looked like Birdy today, I was a little confused. But then I went home, looked up a picture and some of her music, and wowzers. Her voice is beautiful!! I love “Shelter” and “High As the Sun.” And I guess we have the same sense of style, too! Yay!

I would highly advise you to take a listen! She’s fabulous.
I love displaying jewelry. So. Much. I bought this piece of lace from the JoAnn’s half-off scraps pile to use in some future project, but I quite liked the way it looked on my wall so I hung it up and spread out some necklaces on it. I used standard old push pins to hold up the fabric and jewelry, scattered the necklaces so they would be spread somewhat evenly, and voila, a lace wall.
I hope you like this super easy and cheap way to display your pretties! xo Sara
Last month we (and our friend Courtney) decided to throw a masquerade ball to benefit our local animal shelter and non-profit rescue zoo. Both are in pretty rough condition and need all the help they can get. So we wanted to raise some extra cash for them… like 450 extra bucks! We threw the whole shebang together in less than a month and the event was Monday night. It went fabulously. I’m so proud of what we accomplished!
Here are some pics from our night (:

The food table: red velvet cake pops, white wedding cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes, chips, pretzels, and brownies.
Partayyy! We were so happy with the turn out.
The blog girlies! (All but first photo courtesy of Jose Bonifacio)
Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our event. Have a lovely evening!
This is one of my favorite dresses in the whole wide world. It had to be my first outfit post… it just had to!
Dress & Shoes: Urban Outfitters / Tights: American Apparel / Necklace: Forever 21
Hey, pretty posting people! Today, I wore one of my favourite outfits and so I thought I’d share it with you all!
For my hair, I did a side bun mixed with a SwitchFish braid. I also wore my grandmum’s abstract earrings and a necklace I found at the local flea market.
The little striped dress from PacSun is perfectly paired with a guy’s flannel and a belt! I love it so much, and it’s so simple. Haha
These little boots were found at a goodwill a few towns over for the grand price of three dollars. They’re my go to shoes and I love them so.
I’ve been super busy these last few days preparing for the big V-day! I hope you all had a wonderfully perfect day with your boo, your friends, your Ben & Jerry’s… however you spent it! I went to swing dancing lessons with my boyfriend (and Madeline and Bethany!) and then the two of us watched The Notebook in a blanket fort we made…while eating french fries from Sheetz (: He gave me a ring (which I LOVE) and here’s what I got for him:
Sorry for the terrible picture quality, I had to use my webcam because I was in a hurry. I have him a wittle teddy bear that I thought was really cute, some gummy bears (his favorite), a book that I hollowed out and glued two hearts in, some homemade heart candies for his family, and a little book I made with crayons.
I filled it with cute little quotes I found and drew pictures to match. It may be a little cheesy, but I love it!
Have a lovely evening! xo Sara
Hi guys! It’s Sara. Here are some pretty things I’ve been obsessing over lately.
This vintage 1960s dress from roxandsam on Etsy is to die for. It’s a bummer that someone already bought it, but at least I have the picture to gaze at all day (:
Can I just look like this, now? I’m absolutely in love with the styling of this outfit found on Tumblr. The atmosphere… ahh!
Why don’t people dress like this to school anymore? Sigh…
If I didn’t already have my dress for the Masquerade next week, this would be it. I especially love the little bow on the waist!
And lastly, yummmm. These red velvet cream cheese cupcakes look scrumptious. Must try this recipe.
I hope you all have a lovely evening! I’m about to head out with the girls. Wooo!
Good evening, Pretty Party People!
Today was a great style day for me! The best part? I didn’t even know it!
Upon waking up way too late this morning, I realized that I had no time to think about what in blazing glory I was going to wear!(so always listen to those nagging alarms, ladies and gents!) The result? I threw on my yesterday’s jeans – because we all know that the second wear is the best! – and added a simple tee and a flannel. My hair had been straightened from the day before so I rubbed a dryer sheet in it – the best dry shampoo around! – and pulled up the top half! A little bit of powder and some liner and mascara aannnnndddd voila! I walked out the door feeling accomplished for making it. The thing is: everyone loved it! I think I got more compliments today than I have in a very long time.
What’s the lesson here? Simplicity is fine! Just rock it out and feel good about it.
Waking up late may not always be a curse.
Just a plain and simple thursday
